JJ Redick, the former Duke Blue Devil and 15-year NBA veteran, has announced his retirement from professional basketball. The 39-year-old shooting guard, born in Cookeville, Tennessee, leaves behind a legacy as one of the most prolific three-point shooters in NBA history.

Redick was drafted by the Orlando Magic with the 11th overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft. After spending four seasons in Orlando, he went on to play for the Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, New Orleans Pelicans, and Dallas Mavericks. During his time in the NBA, Redick won an NBA championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020.

Known for his exceptional shooting ability, Redick finished his career with a three-point field goal percentage of 41.5%, ranking him among the top 10 in NBA history. He also holds the NBA record for most consecutive free throws made (76). Redick's shooting prowess earned him the nickname "JJ Redickulous" from fans and commentators.

Off the court, Redick has become a successful podcaster and sports analyst. He currently co-hosts the popular podcast "The Old Man and the Three" with former NBA player Tommy Alter.
