Celtics Close In on NBA Championship Trophy
The Boston Celtics took another commanding step towards their 18th NBA championship title Thursday night as they defeated the Dallas Mavericks 107-89 in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. The Celtics led by as many as 29 points and now hold a commanding 3-0 lead in the series.
Brown led the way for the Celtics with 22 points and eight rebounds. Tatum added 19 points, while Smart chipped in with 17 points, and Horford contributed 16 points and 10 rebounds. For the Mavericks, Doncic led the way with 26 points and 10 assists, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Celtics' dominance.
The Celtics will look to complete the sweep of the Mavericks in Game 4 on Friday night. The Mavericks will need to find a way to generate more offense if they want to extend the series. The Celtics, on the other hand, will be looking to close out the series and bring the Larry O'Brien Trophy back to Boston.
