A Look Back at Every Kia Rookie of the Year Award
Since the inaugural season of the NBA in 1946-47, the Rookie of the Year award has been given to the most outstanding first-year player in the league. Over the years, some of the biggest names in basketball have won the award, including Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and LeBron James.
Recent Winners
In recent years, the Rookie of the Year award has been dominated by players from the United States. Since 2015, only one international player has won the award (Luka Dončić in 2018-19). The most recent winner of the award is Paolo Banchero of the Orlando Magic, who won the award in the 2022-23 season.
